Play Box staff team are all committed to safeguarding all the children and young adults in our care.
All children have the right to be treated with respect and to be helped to grow and to be safe from any sort of abuse.
We have a safeguarding policy and staff have regular inhouse as well as external training. We have Designated Safeguarding Leads in both Lauren and Helen, who are confident in how they respond to concerns.
We have joined the Operation Encompass Programme, where Police Officers can speak to us directly concerning incidents involving our families that have occurred outside of nursery, so we can support the families in setting.
Our recruitment procedure means ALL new staff must complete an application form, attend an interview and must have a full enhanced DBS and 2 or 3 quality references. Once they join the team, they must complete an induction programme and a 6-month probation.
Some of the ways we safeguard children are - Mobile phone policy (Staff keep their phones in their lockers and visitors leave their mobile in the nursery office), we have CCTV on the main doors and reception area, We have coded doors leading to the nursery, all new people collecting children must be on the system for collection and have the correct password, we update staff training to ensure consistency, we complete risk assessments using the Brightsafe App and website, we do regular checks on the areas and equipment used with staff removing all broken equipment, ID checks on all professionals attending the nursery and all visitors sign in and out.
